If you don't like what is on tv - turn it off! stop being a couch potato, start to live life, not just watch it on TV....
The reason why there is so much sex and violence on our screens is because people want to watch them! it is all about providing what the public want - if people didn't want to watch programs then the tv companies wouldn't provide them - vote with your remote and if enough people do the same then the programs would stop being made!
in the meantime, at least the rest of us would be saved your continual bleating about imposing your "values" on the rest of us!

excuss me lain? i think if you look back on what i have been saying all alone, you will find that i also said there is too much violence on tv too, please get your facts straight before you reply to people, sex is just one of the many times programs seem to show too much of, but violence also disturbs me in alot of programs that are supossed to be fit for children to watch!!!!!!

I think we need to invent a time machine so that you can all go back to living in the past! The world has moved on from prudery and forbiden subjects - the fresh light of reason and honesty has opened up the once dark and shameful side of life and turned it into something that we can all enjoy - sharing our experiences and making it better for all!
We can not go back to how things were - hiding things away just makes them fester and go bad, we are so much better off now that sex and such matters can be talked about in public, where problems can be explored and solved and where fear and Embarrassment can be over come!
I feel sorry for those of you who can not cope with openness and sexual matters in an adult manner, sex is nothing to be ashamed of - free yourself from the past!

Belive me, he had everything thrown at him and more!
Losing his family and be really ill. I blame it's more on my mother for not beliving me. I can't forgive her for leaving me with him. Ok anough if and anyhting else i will continue this in private with you one day.

its a very sad affair that so many woman i know have been in the same nightmare as i at such a young age pen, and i feel for you, it is so hard to move on when someone nasty has crushed your happiness. but i am here for you whenever you need me. i only wish these so called men got more for what they done to us.

I understand were you are coming from Mandy. Violence was in my child hood and i was also raped at the age of 14. It's something we will live with for the rest our lives.
I to have a happy and loving and full sex life with my partner. I am too sick tiered of to much sex and violence on the tv. My be people can understand why i am over protective of my children.

yes there were violence in the old days, eg kray brothers and lots more, but, nowhere near what it like today, and i feel its because there is too much violence and sex on tv. I myself not that it will make a differnce to say! was raped when i was 14yrs old, and again at 15, and do you know what I found out in the hearing? that he had copied it from a film!!!! well great veiwing...... now i run that over and over in my head for the rest of my life, he gets to keep watching films in prison even probally the one that scared my life, so yes i think there is too much of it tv and i'm sick of it.

I think you will find that many nasty things were done long before tv and films and newspapers were invented.....
sex sells, most people are interested in sex - if they weren't then the papers and films would not sell! heck, there is so much sex and violence in your bible - but that is encouraged for young people to read and believe in.....
why should the rest of the world have to live under your restricted standards, just because you say so?
Having frank and open discussions about matters that concern people is an important part of our democracy, everyone has the right to information about matters concerning themselves, everyone has the right to see how other peoples and societies operate, Everyone should accept that other ways of living are just as valid!
This country has tried censorship of sexual matters - one just has to look back to the early part of last century to see the harm that resulted - lacking information about contraception resulted in back street abortions and fear, diseases were common, and often people died of them - whereas now, people can get help and prevention and cures for most of them! When information is censored, only the powerful have access to it!
Going back to more primitive times is not something that any one should look forward to! Information and education is the way forward!

sex sex sex thats all its about today, and yes maybe we should go back to the old days and cover the table legs if we have to, time its self has shown us over the years what tv and media has done to this horrible world we live in today, look how much violence, and rapes, and pedo's are out there today thanks to these so called great films that are out there today, and media giving idea's to all the weirdo's, how you say, well you read in the paper one day how someone killed someone else, the paper put it down word for word how it was done, the next day some else who is a complete weirdo thinks great now ill have a go at that, then the next day he does.... yes theres a water shed so kids dont watch this stuff, but as we all know unfortunatly some parents dont care what there kids watch, also it dont stop all the adult;s does it, and where do you think they get all these ideas from? tv and media, so yes far too much sex, violence, and propaganda on our tv and in our faces. and yes before anyone wants to add it yes, i enjoy a very full and happy sex life with my HUSBAND, but thats a very private affair, we dont do it for all to see.

Pleae don't put words into mouth . Please don't tell me Do what to do with my children. I can handle anything especially love and sex thank you. More like You can't.
All i'm doing is protecting my children the bestway i know how. I don't agree with the crimes and murdres and violance in today's society.
You don't no anything about me or my life. We have to disagree on this.

I'm not a breeder, but my parents brought me up to realise that sex is nothing to be ashamed about - I guess they were just more enlightened than you are. Why should the rest of society have to live by your rules? You have the control of your tv, don't try to take away everyone elses choices - that way leads to censorship and when one person can dictate what other people can see or do, that is a form of tyranny that is not good for society as a whole!
We have the watershed as a compromise - but if you are letting your kids stay up after that time, then don't complain about the stuff that is on TV!
